I like to challenge myself. I like not knowing the outcome when I paint. I like the surprises. But along with that, come the disappointments too.
It’s all part of the process but it ain’t easy. That’s certainly not lost on me. I still work at embracing it.
It’s the price of admission into a more meaningful life.
If you feel safe with your work then you’re not challenging yourself.
Don’t dip your toes in the water. Jump right in. Enough to feel uncomfortable. On edge. Vibrant. Accept the uncertainty with curiosity.
Because when we get out of our depth is when we start to do something exciting.
